Guthrie Farms was founded in 2014 when we moved to Shelby County from north of Birmingham. We started out with a few chickens, but our farm has grown to include at least 5 dozen chickens, meat rabbits, meat and milk goats, ducks, a tom turkey and a goose, and a pond stocked with bass, bluegill and red-ear bream.

We started selling our eggs in 2017, adding fresh produce and fruit sales in November, 2018, along with Fraser Fir Christmas trees, at a roadside produce stand on the corner or County Highways 47 & 49 between Columbiana and Chelsea. We also introduced our own line of handmade bar soaps, foaming hand soaps, and all natural homemade healthy household cleaners, including fabric refresher/room spray, an all-purpose streak-free cleaning spray, and powdered laundry detergent. In March,2019, we officially opened  our business, The Garden Market, in a permanent location in Montevallo, where we continue to carry fresh produce and eggs, seasonal plants, Amish canned goods as well as meats, cheeses, & butter, as well as gourmet chocolates, boiled peanuts, and unique home decor.
